The Ghent University Academic Bibliography provides an overview of scientific publications by UGent researchers. ORCID provides a persistent identifier that will distinguish you from other researchers throughout your scholarly career. Linking your ORCID iD to your UGent Account is important to facilitate research workflows. Over time, ORCID will become an integral part of GISMO (the research information system).

I’ve got an invitation from someone from our university to the Yammer social network. There is a UGent community available with already more than 500 members. You have to sign up with any e-mail, but don’t make the mistake I did with using some Google e-mail. You really have to use your generic UGent e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org), otherwise you will not be in the UGent community! If you have registered with your Google account and you want to delete it to change to the UGent community, you can do this: Edit Profile -> Preferences -> Delete your yammer account and register again with your UGent e-mail!
Yammer is an enterprise social network established to foster team collaboration, empower employees, and drive business transformation. It enables employees to collaborate in real time across departments, geographies, and business applications. It also helps them create groups to collaborate on projects and share and edit documents. The service of yammer.com can be accessed through the web, desktop and mobile devices including iPhone, iPad, Windows Phone, Android, and Blackberry, enabling a “virtual office” that employees can plug into while on-the-go. Additionally, Yammer can be easily integrated with other systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, creating a social layer across all enterprise applications. Yammer has secured more than 7 million users, including employees from 85 percent of the Fortune 500 companies. Founded in 2008, Yammer is now a part of Microsoft.
